The Missouri Library Association is a diverse and thriving organization with over 500 members representing librarians, support staff, and library supporters from academic, public, special, and K-12 libraries. Over 300 individuals attended the 2016 conference and nearly a quarter of MLA members are empowered with final decision-making abilities. Whether your company already does business with Missouri libraries or you are looking to break into a new market, you won’t want to miss this conference. Exhibiting, advertising, and sponsorship opportunities are available.

 

The Sheraton Westport Chalet has over 8,000 square feet of carpeted exhibition space, or make your presence known by choosing one of our premium booths located in the foyer of vendor hall. The entire conference and exhibit space is conveniently situated under one roof, providing a comfortable, intimate setting that is optimal for networking. Located 7.4 miles from the St. Louis Lambert International Airport, the hotel is centrally located with easy access to interstates, shopping, and downtown.

 

EXHIBITING

 

16 premium booth spaces and 39 vendor hall spaces (55 spaces total) will be
assigned on a first come, first served basis. Nonprofit rate available only in the vendor hall.

Vendors will have multiple drink, meal, and no conflict opportunities to talk with conference attendees.

All 8 x 10 booth spaces include:

8’ skirted table, 2 chairs, wastebasket

Back wall

2 complimentary conference registrations (extra registrations available @ $50/person)

Premium spaces include all of the above plus opt-in contact information for

Deadlines

August 4, 2017—Early Bird registration closes.

August 25, 2017—General registration closes.

 

MLA will assign booth spaces on a first come, first-served basis.

Exhibitors may not sublet or apportion booth space to any other business. Parent and subsidiary businesses are not considered other businesses. Contractors are other businesses and require their own booth space.

Booths must be open and staffed during all regular exhibit hours. Anyone arriving late, leaving early, or breaking down during trade show hours may be refused entrance to future shows.

Exhibitors are expected to abide by all rules and regulations set by the Sheraton Westport Chalet.

Cancellations made in writing and postmarked prior to June 30, 2017 are subject to a 50% cancellation fee. No refunds will be made following June 30, 2017. All cancellations are final. MLA may resell cancelled booths as opportunities allow. No refunds shall be paid as a result of subsequent booth sales.

 Bohley Scholarship

The Ronald G. Bohley Scholarship is sponsored by the Professionalism, Education, Employment, and Recruitment Community of Interest (PEER) and is awarded annually to an individual enrolled or recently accepted into an ALA-accredited  program in pursuit of a Master’s degree in Library/Information Science. Preference is given to Missouri residents or students. To arrange to make a donation, please contact PEER chair, Brent Husher at bhusher@mymcpl.org

Keynote Speaker

Conference attendees will gather together Wednesday afternoon to hear Judge Jimmie Edwards share his thoughts on community outreach.

Vendor Reception

Held in conjunction with the exhibit hall opening, this is the most well
attended, no conflict period of the conference. Attendees gather to socialize with vendors and see what’s new and exciting. Complimentary beverages and hors d’œuvres will be provided.

Awards Ceremony

Held Thursday evening, MLA members gather to honor their colleagues and
friends. Please help us celebrate those who excel at their profession by
sponsoring this important event. Complimentary hors d’œuvres and cash bar will be provided.

Conference Program Books

Program books are used by attendees throughout the duration of the conference and for reference after. Program sponsorship will keep your name in front of attendees during and after the conference.

Trivia Night

Held Wednesday evening, trivia Night brings together conference attendees and exhibitors for a fun night of friendly competition.  Complimentary snacks and cash bar will be provided.

Conference Bags

Every conference attendee receives a conference bag. This is a great opportunity for your logo to be seen by all when you sponsor this item.

Conference Lanyards & Badges

Conference lanyards and badges are worn at all times by all conference
attendees. Add you logo to the lanyards and badges for further name
recognition.

Pre-Conferences

Pre-conferences are held Wednesday morning before the conference officially
starts.  Attendees spend 2-4 hours together in workshops that offer
opportunities for lots of in-depth learning.

MACRL Lunch

On Wednesday, one of the most active divisions of MLA, the Missouri
Association of College and Research Libraries division, will gather for lunch.

Children’s Services Author Luncheon

This popular, very well attended Thusnelda Schmidt lunch will be held Thursday afternoon. This events brings together the who’s who in children’s services to celebrate their very special niche in the library industry.

Young Adult Division Breakfast

On Friday morning, youth services librarians gather to dine and discuss issues in youth services librarianship and celebrate with a guest speaker from the Young Adult genre.

MLA Annual Business Meeting

MLA members gather for their annual business meeting on Thursday afternoon. Be part of celebrating our year’s accomplishments by sponsoring this session.

 

Bronze ($250)

Conference Break

Attendees gather for light refreshments and snacks. Held in the exhibit hall, these breaks draw in large crowds. Two breaks are available for sponsorship.

New member meet and greet

New and ‘old’ MLA members gather to get an overview of the association and the various roles they can play within. An active association is a healthy association and we want to continue to grow our base of volunteers.

Poster session & Table Talks

Located on the exhibit floor, these intimate events draw crowds and provide opportunities for members to share projects that are best shared on a one-to-one basis.

Unplug and unwind stations

These popular activity stations, set up in the hallways, were a popular addition to the 2016 conference. Multiple sponsorship opportunities are available.

Individual breakout sessions

Breakout sessions are the professional development opportunities of the
conference. Lend your support to a session by sponsoring one.
